”I am fascinated by the way an object casts it’s shadow on a table, or the way the texture of a rough material compliments a delicate surface.

My designs are not to be seen as isolated objects, but rather to be experienced as a whole, in which the surroundings and the objects interact. Whether I work as a professor, an architect or a space designer, I deal with the relationship between people and their surroundings. I know how an object can mark a certain place and influence the user.”

Mai-Mai Ulrich has participated as a designer in various exhibitions and museums, and has taught at Denmarks Design school for 15 years. In addition she has written two educational books: “Architecture in othert words” and “Design in other words”, The first book received Denmarks School libraries authors prize in 1996.

Birger Christensen, Architect MAA

”My designs are to be seen as personal and clear interpretations of well known everyday objects. I create designs that radiate peace, while simultaneously pronounce themselves with character. My work as a production designer on big sets is influenced by many opinions and considerations. This is called the art of compromise. It is satisfying to work with a specific design, which in terms of expression, as well as production, is not open to discussion or compromise."

Birger Christensen has been a set designer at DR-TV for 24 years for news studios, sports studios and entertainment productions, as for example the Eurovision song contest in 2001 at Parken. He is now with the company Setting Ltd. as an exhibition architect and set designer at museums, tv-productions and events.
